FULL days at work leading into spring break
Mom bringing me lunch (Fuzzy\’s, no less) when I forgot mine and didn’t have time to leave – precious

Cindy’s great ideas. And getting to celebrate her birthday
Cindy you are the BEST – ha!

This.

SCS girls’ bball win over Dallas Christian, NOW heading to state playoff game; soaking in the last of cheer. Mom going with us – SUCH a close, good game
Basden and Es going to dinner with Buell kids after the game – that their schedules overlap with cheer so much – a GIFT

Essie getting to take private lessons at TCC

How much Papa\’s text meant to me, and I cannot wait to have his book printed. And he\’s onto year #2!

Essie – enjoying SCS golf on pretty days (brand new for her)

My heated throw blanket – such comfort as I climb into bed

Eyes out for signs of new growth

Texts from Hud

Getting to see my girls during the day at school

20 min walk at dusk

When Auburn provides “wellness days” instead of spring break (bc of Covid), the kids head to the beach anyway

Few quiet minutes in the mornings

Having the exact amount of cash I need for Elvia this morn – God you are so generous even in the details

Essie’s back hand springs

Hearing from two prospective families how much it meant to them that Esther approached them at SCS and introduced themselves – I love her spunk so much

College counseling meeting with Joy yesterday, I am so endeared to her, so proud of her.
At this point she\’s choosing between Baylor and Auburn

Gospel Primer –

“Through the death of Christ, God has brought peace where there was once hostility, and he has broken down the racial, economic, and social barriers that once divided us outside of Christ.
Also when God saved us, he made us members of his household, and he gave us as gifts to each other. We are significant players in each others’ gospel narratives…”

Basden touching up my hair color – she\’s not afraid AND does a great job
Pedicure with KDS – time with her AND cleaned up toes make me feel better! Just having a pedicure makes me feel ready for spring

“It’s only dead fish that swim with the current” – Jonathan Murphey, in his sermon at CCBC

More strong Proverbs:
22:22  A good name is more desirable than great riches; to be esteemed is better than silver or gold.
23:15-16  My son, if your heart is wise, my own heart will also be glad; And my inmost being will rejoice when your lips speak what is right.
24:26 An honest answer is like a kiss on the lips.

Thank you, Eatzi’s. See you soon.

Funny funny.

Spring Break 2021:

Auburn visit, have LOVED coordinating with Joneses and Richardsons on these college weekends. Great food (too much food!), C taking a KETO break and enjoying being a foodie at The Acre, Amsterdam Cafe, and yummy Mo\’Bay Beignets among others
Happy birthday to Merritt!

FarmHouse initiation ~ and Mason! Loved learning more about FH, not a Christian fraternity but founded on Biblical principals. Such a great community for Hud to plug into

Perfect timing getting to be with Hud during an unexpectedly challenging weekend

Visit to ACC – powerful sermon

Getting to meet / see many of Hud’s good friends ~ Kensie, Claire and Carsen, Cami, Riley, Hudson S.,  Ellie, Payton, Kelcy, Amy, Coleman…

Running into Waltons at Toomers – what a treat!

The tug I feel every time we drive out of Auburn

Jodie Berndt’s writings and book on prayer – I feel like I made a new friend!

Essie with the Hills all weekend in Milton, then getting to take Lily Claire to the beach with us – SUCH a fun spring break

Our forecast – which did NOT happen – thank you Lord!

Absolutely loved our hotel – the Lodge at Gulf State Park by Hilton – smack dab in the middle of the state park, so nothing on either side for long stretches. New, beachy-modern hotel – I hope to be back soon
Seriously – spring break
Girls waking themselves up for sunrise on the beach (and disappointed at how cold it was!)

Getting a whole day / evening with lovely Kristin – unexpected surprise and deep encouragement to be together
The mandatory beach photo shoot (these whittled from 998,974 pics – right Kristin?!)
Hearty laughter – for all of us – nothing better!

Beach walks with Corbin and solo. Walking along the ever-churning waves, realizing afresh that the tide will always obey God. Nature will never bend to or be subject to men – thank the Lord. Prayers for future spouses of each of our children.

Asking God for specific encouragement about one specific situation. Less than 24 hours later He answered me in a surprising, specific manner. Thank you, Lord.

Last beach morning – sitting at the breakfast table by myself for a bit watching a dad and his two young boys at the next table. His oldest with curls, the younger dark-headed. Both curious and kind and excited to be at the beach, dad patient and happy to have them there. I got so choked up watching them, had to keep my big sunglasses on the whole time to hide my tears. Days gone by, but sweet to remember our boys little like that, curious and tender hearted.
matching cargo camo and all
Restoration and relaxation that being ocean-side provides

Funniest – while facetiming Basden from Auburn, it looked like she was wearing a crown – ha!

Basden holding down the fort while we were g
one all week (stayed home for softball), even cleaning the kitchen before we got home; took care of our dogs and a neighbor’s dogs, did everything she was supposed to do – so grateful!

Bran\’s facetimes, brings me joy

Thank you, Lord, there’s no place like home.

Look to the Lord and his strength; seek his face always. Remember the wonders he has done, his miracles… 1 Chronicles 16:11-12
