Feeling extra proud to live in this city. Extra proud and extra grateful.

Corbin and I got to spend ALL of Saturday at the zoo.

And with this fabulous weather, there was no better place to be. Never mind that all of DFW also decided to spend the gorgeous April day feeding animals, it was invigorating even with the crowds.

Radiology Associates held their company-wide event throughout the day, and Southwest Christian School hosted their Auction in the same tent later that evening. From a lunch of burgers and hotdogs in t-shirts and shorts, to steaks and potatoes in semi-formal wear, we are just a little overwhelmed to get to be part of these two amazing communities.

Seeing RANT docs and staff with their young families ~ a reminder that these brilliant people who work so hard around the clock saving lives all over Texas are also in the throes of caring for littles, growing their families, and managing their personal lives in conjunction with demanding careers.

Corbin, in all of his leadership and responsibility, spent his few minutes at home between events tenderly bathing Cross after another seizure. This picture represents one tiny way he tirelessly serves me and our kiddos.

Essie and I just spent a couple of hours at my alma mater last week, Southwest High School, and we were blown away as Principal John Engel shared some incredible people and happenings going on in those halls. So to be with two dear high school friends at the auction Saturday night is not lost on me ~ from SHS to SCS with Casey and Kevin.

Our family has received incredible support and friendship from different pockets of communities in Fort Worth over the years, and I’m  reminded afresh this week of such incredible people to live life with – both throughout my growing up years and since then getting to raise our family here.

All these pictures – old friendships and newer ones all mixed together. There’s no big small town like Fort Worth.
