Sundays at church – no replacement for in-person community (thank you, Basden and Essie, for pushing us to attending in person early this year)
A Hudson sighting! Suzanne running into him with friends at a basketball game in small-town Georgia

Have been in Proverbs this week:

13:15 The way of the unfaithful is hard.
13:20 He who walks with the wise is wise, but a companion of fools suffers harm. 14:10 Each heart knows its own bitterness, and no one can share its joy.
14:23 All hard work brings a profit, but mere talk leads only to poverty.

QUIET day yesterday, never left the house!

Getting in a 45 min solo walk

Nearly perfect Sunday – O’Neals and Brogdons coming for lunch, SCS play, HSM tonight

Bran’s PC lake weekend
Hud’s day today – date with Kensie at Seaside! Getting to ft with them last night

More great Proverbs this week:
16:21 The wise in heart are called discerning, and pleasant words promote instruction.
17:9 He who covers an offense promotes love, but whoever repeats the matter separates close friends.
17:27 A man of knowledge uses words with restraint, and a man of understanding is even tempered.
17:28 Even a fool is thought wise if he keeps silent, and discerning if he holds his tongue.

M last night at Kieta’s – pizza, wine, smaller group, sweet and safe conversation

So many hard things with families we love and admire, struggling marriages and struggling kiddos. Lord you know and you are the Great Physician, the Healer

Hud thanking us for trusting him

Basden and friends celebrating Sarah’s birthday here

And a few more from Proverbs – wish I could soak all of these in:
19:11 A man’s wisdom gives him patience; it is to his glory to overlook an offense.
19:22 What a man desires is unfailing love; better to be poor than a liar.
20:22 Do not say, “I’ll pay you back for this wrong!” Wait for the Lord, and he will deliver you.
21:29 A wicked man puts up a bold front, but an upright man gives thought to his ways.
21:30 There is no wisdom, no insight that can succeed against the Lord.

Struggling with discouragement, thank you for friends who listen and pray, You give me joy

Papa and Clinton’s bdays

Sunny Sunday morning – feels like Spring is coming

Date w/ C last night to Masero

That after all this time, Mercy Me’s “Even If” brings pain. Comfort too, but also pain. Thank you Father for meeting me in the pain, even when I don’t understand

Corbin fixed our fridge!! He youtube’d it and installed the new control board!! WooHoo ALMOST a month without our fridge and we survived 🙂

Forgive the language, but this is one of the best I’ve seen in 2021.

Last SCS soccer game – made it all the way to state-semifinal. 0-0 v. Grapevine Faith at half, lost 1-0, but a proud loss against a skilled team. Coach Winn made it special for the girls with awards at a post-game dinner
Have especially enjoyed sitting in the stands with Daboo during soccer season
Annnnnnd on to SCS softball. Her first year, she\’s enjoying it a ton! So thankful she gets to play under Coach Cline

Cheer season winding down, SCS girls basketball is headed towards state playoffs
This has been a rebuilding year – new coach (we love, love Darian), new format (varsity competition open to all grades, so our girls could cheer together, praise God), and a smaller team. The program will continue to grow even this next year, but I’m so grateful for this particular team, these particular girls (although we’re missing a few here – bball players!). SCS cheer has been a gift in many ways for our girls and our family this year.
Disappointments out of my control… Lord you can be trusted with our kiddos, our family, our future. Thank you for giving me the grace to choose to trust you (even when I don’t feel it) to provide joy in the normal days even with circumstances that make me sad.
Truth.
On my walk – it’s hard to believe that in just a couple of weeks these branches really will show new growth. I can’t imagine it, but I believe it.

Look to the Lord and his strength; seek his face always. Remember the wonders he has done, his miracles… 1 Chronicles 16:11-12
