Oh my goodness LOOK WHO is in Kauai! NICKMO
Hud and crew – road trip to Angel Fire and back to Auburn
.
With all of the kids literally adventuring all over the world, Corbin decided we needed a little getaway to Zion National Park (via Las Vegas):
- Emerald pool hikes with waterfalls on a gorgeous, sunny day
- Rainy day hiking in Zion – Grotto, west rim trail, Willy’s Wiggles up to Scout’s Lookout, Angel’s Landing
- Canyoneering with our guide, Noah – Lamb’s Knoll (part of Zion NP that we drove to) – hiking in deep snow, a little bouldering to climb to high places to rappel. First a small practice rock, then 60 ft, then 100 ft. At the last rappel site, weather shifted from sprinkling rain to sleet with heavy thunder. We enjoyed Noah so much, hearing how outdoor recreation has changed / grown him with life skills. Zion Guru outfitting.
- This morning’s canyoneering felt magical. We would have never experienced the rock formations like that without a guide; experience rappelling together; the rain, sleet, snow and cold temps made it more challenging AND more rewarding – getting out of our comfort zones. I was just plain scared a couple of times, but neat to work through that with C and Noah’s encouragement
- Coming home with a suitcase of dirty (muddy) clothes – truly an adventurous weekend
.

Lord I praise you as Jehovah Jireh – “the God who provides.” Just as you provided yesterday, you will also provide today and tomorrow. You grant deliverance from sin, the oil of joy for the ashes of sorrow, and eternal citizenship in your kingdom.
